CHANGES...

I must crave your pardon...

I am a new assistant to Master Karswell-- Nequam is a name that suffices.

Think of me as an archivist, or librarian. Along with cleaning up some archived comments that have done nothing but attract vermin, I shall be working on indexing the contents so that readers interested in the works of particular artists, publishers and suchlike will be able to find them in the archives more easily.

I may even-- with Master Karswell's gracious permission-- rearrange a few things. Adding shelves, as it were.

Please bear with me!

Alas! In attempting to preview a possible change I have altered the blog itself! I pray Master Karswell will not take it too amiss...

Perhaps, with your leave, I might experiment with typefaces at a later time? I have done some book work on my own and take pleasure in careful use of unusual fonts for effect...

Let me say, while it might have been there in some manner before and I missed it, the artist, title, and publisher index is a great addition.

I for one am glad that Karswell has an assistant in maintaining this great blog.

All I can ask of you, Nequam, is that you take as much care of the site as Karswell did in creating it, and if possible (Humanly or otherwise) make backups in case the internet develops an appetite for horror comics.

The internet is notorious for devouring web pages from time to time.

Mr. Barnes -- It had not been. No post here had labels (called "tags" on other blogs, but Blogger must be different), and Master Karswell was frankly overwhelmed by the scale of such curation-- especially as the early years of this blog were very voluminous (over 600 posts in 2008 alone!). That is where I come in.

Mr. JMR -- I shall do my best, and backing up the site is a wise idea, though I was able to at least look at archive.org when making sure I put back the colors and fonts closer to as they were.

To all readers: I am wondering if a cloud-style arrangement, rather than a long list, would work better for the indices. If you have opinions on such, please do let me know!

One thought: It would be nice when reading the stories to be able to click through them in one go, instead of having to come back and load each page?

Guy - If I understand you correctly, you are thinking of the set up that loads all images at once and has navigation arrows to go back and forth among the pages. That would be a fine idea, though I think I will have to finish the archiving first-- and what's more, I'll need to research how that sort of image loading works.

I have set the Artists Index to a cloud view for now (and gotten rid of the number of posts part, as the font size is a pretty good indicator of how many articles are attributed to that artist). Please let me know what you think!

I definitely like the cloud look better, less scrolling is always a good thing! Excellent work so far :) I hope everyone agrees!
